Hello friends and followers.

Yea, I know... My blogging needs improvement!
However, I've been very busy painting, and that's a good thang...right?

I have so much to share. Not only do I have quite a few new paintings to show, I'm also involved with a couple commissions, and a charity event.

I'll try to catch everyone up in this posting.

First off....very important news. I've just finished 3 large paintings which are going to be part of "ART FOR ANIMALS" http://www.facebook.com/#!/nashvilleartforanimals

Please check this out. As most of you know...I am a lover of animals, and this is truly a worthy cause. 100% of the proceeds go to the spay and neuter project. The event will be held, February 10, 2012 / 7:00-9:30pm @ Tinney Contemporary Gallery in Nashville.

Well I'm back at it again folks. Been painting like a crazy woman the past few weeks. Several things going on that I'd like to share.

I'm proud to say that a couple of my pieces were featured at the recent "State of the Art Party" sponsored by The Pulse Newsweekly. Thanks to Hart Gallery. That was quite a surprise. Also, Hart Gallery has been kind enough to select me as their feature Artist this month (during Chattanooga's Southside ArtStroll). I've been very busy finishing up several pieces for this special event. I've posted some of these on my blog. Hart Gallery is a Not-for-profit 501c entity with a portion of all my sales going to the Humane Society.

I've also been working with my friend Linda Chapman from Melekim Antiques. I've always loved Antiques, and when I met Linda we hit it off from the get-go. When I'm not painting, I'm at Linda's shop bugging her. She's offered to display some of my work there too. Check out her Facebook page, and if you get a chance visit her shop.

This is the ONLY place in Chattanooga you'll be able to see my work before it goes anywhere else. It turns out, her shop is perfect for drying pieces. Here is the only chance to grab a piece of my art before others see it.

I've been so busy with my art the past few weeks that I haven't taken a moment for myself. Well...I guess I take a few here and there, but really I am very focused on my work these days.

I want to let my friends know just how happy I am now. I've felt a sense of peace and contentment the last few months. Up till recently life had been a bit of struggle after going through a rough spot in my life. Now though...things are good.

I want to thank all my friends and love ones who have been there for me and for making it possible to continue my art.

Hey everyone,

It’s been awhile since my last post. I have been very busy working on several projects in my studio. I’m currently working on a couple of commissions and several more detailed works. I hope to have my first limited giclee print ready soon.

I have recently finished this little piece. (I actually started this work a couple of years ago). Not sure what I am going to do with this one yet. In any event… here is a sneak peek at “BLUE WINGS”.

It appears my life is once again going through changes. Wow! This year has been one roller coaster ride I won’t soon forget.

I took a 4 month break from my art to help a friend with his restaurant and now its time for me to get back to my art.

I’ll be back in my studio soon, and eager to pour out my emotions on canvas.

It’s a beautiful Labor Day weekend here in TN. I'm busy as usual working in my studio. I’m working on several projects and thought I would give you a sneak peek at a work in progress. Here is a rare textured commission piece created for a talented opera singer in TN. I had the opportunity to visit his home and take in his tastes of color and texture. This work is my impression of what I felt. He is a powerful man with the voice of an angel. I feel I captured his powerful personality and eclectic tastes in this piece.

Well things are still kinda tough! I’m currently working on several projects. Besides my large original abstracts, I’m now offering 2 new items into my eBay sore. The first item is a set of 3 small 8.5 X 10” (matted 11 X 14”) originals which I call “Earth Trio Series, and the second new item is called “Doodle Art” I plan to add a collection of ACEO’s to my inventory as well.

For those of you who are not familiar with ACEO…these are small works of art which measure 2.5 X 3.5”. These small works of art are all the rave. It began about 2 years ago and people are going nuts. An artist came up with the idea and other artists hopped on. They are like artist trading cards. Look them up on Google or go check them out on eBay. The prices range from a couple of dollars to hundreds. They can be originals or prints.

Dear Friends, collectors, and all who view my work.

Let me take a moment to thank you, and allow you a glimpse into who I am.

I was born in a small town just south of Atlanta GA, Dec. 24th 1961. My 4 younger sisters and I were raised on biscuits and gravy, fried chicken, and butter beans. My parents did the best they could on daddy’s $9,000.00 annual income. We raised our food from the yard and mother made our clothes. Life was very simple then.

I began drawing spiritual and visionary art by age 5 and as a young teen I progressed into fantasy art. I spent most of my time drawing for friends, family, the school newspaper, anyone and everyone who asked. I actually spent time in the principle’s office for too much drawing and little of anything else.

I started out with abstract and experiment with fantasy, visionary and surrealism. I feel my work leans towards raw, dark, powerful, passionate, sometimes disturbing and uplifting all at the same time. People ask me, what is it I paint? My answer is feelings.

I live a modest life, filled with appreciation and gratefulness. I wish only to express all that I am in my work. My life has thus far been a varied and colorful journey. I hope others will find inspiration in the art which stems from these experiences, and that a piece of it will find its place in your home.
